The pianist Stéphane De May loves most of all to share things with everybody. To share his passion, his delicate and thought-out play, his sensitive personality, his sharp acumen for human contact.

Having obtained the higher piano diploma at the École Normale A. Cortot in Paris and the concertist diploma at the Rotterdam Conservatory, he completed his formation at the Mons Conservatory obtaining the higher diploma of chamber music. He was to reap high honours with congratulations of the jury, led by such grand masters as A. Delle-Vigne, A. Rachman El Bacha, T. Evdokimova and G. Van Waas.

On the international scene he was laureate in numerous competitions in Italy, Spain, Austria, Greece, the United States of America and the Netherlands. His name appears on the playbills of the most renowned festivals.

Currently he is teacher of piano and chamber music at the Rotterdam Conservatory, at the Conservatoire de Liège and at IMEP de Namur. He is invited at the HEMU de Sion in Switzerland on a regular basis.

His discography - greatly appreciated by the international press - is a real spellbinder encompassing the entire piano repertoire.
Since his recent recording of Chopin's Nocturnes - the reference recording according to the American press -, up to his recordings of contemporary Music by Pärt, Liebermann, Lysight and Janssens.
His repertoire ranges from Chamber Music by Weber, Schubert, Chopin, Mendelssohn, Franck, Lekeu, Debussy to only recently Onslow.
Pausing briefly at the "solo variations" by Bach, Mendelssohn, Chopin, Mompou, Czerny and Franck.
Utilizing a moment of rest full of energy for tangos by Piazzolla, Bragato, Devreese and Brossé.

As a sought-after chamber musician, he had the honour to have been invited with the Portici Trio (Luc Tooten - cellist, and Damien Pardoen - violinist) to the official tour of the Belgian King and Queen in Lithuania as well as to the Autumn Concert in the Royal Palace in 2006.
Since 2007, the Portici Trio has been the "orchestra in residence" of the University of Leuven and its official ambassador.
